School Closing Guidelines

INCLEMENT WEATHER/SCHOOL CLOSINGS

AS A RESULT OF INCLEMENT WEATHER, SCHOOLS MAY:

1. Open on time.
2. Delay start.
3. Close.
4. When the temperature with WTCH/WOWN Radio Station is below -20°F, buses will leave two hours later and schools will start two hour later.
5. When the temperature is recorded at -25°F with WTCH/WOWN Radio Station, school will not be held. Wind chill warnings will be considered.

PARENTS - If school is open and you decide that weather conditions make it unsafe for your child/children to come to school, call the school to notify the office that they will not be in attendance and they will be excused.

WTCH- 96.1 FM & 960 AM, WOWN-99.3 FM, WJMQ 92.3 FM and WIXX-101.1 FM are called as soon as a decision is reached to place a closing announcement on the air.

FOX 11 - TV (Channel 11) will announce the decision of school operations between 6:15 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.

When school is dismissed early because of inclement weather, the announcement will indicate that school will dismiss early. Parents are asked to have alternative plans for their children’s supervision and care in the event school is dismissed early due to inclement weather.

PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE BUS COMPANY OR THE SCHOOL UNLESS IT IS AN EMERGENCY
