Tryout Info

TRY-OUTS:

  • Any and all are encouraged to try-out or join our team, there are no cuts.

  • Any and all are encouraged to attend our BASE TRAINING in July/August.

  • The Base Training will encompass:

    • instruction in basic stroke skills and drills

    • explanation and introduction of a dryland program

    • seasoned swimmers on hand as resources for questions and modeling

    • organizational planning for the upcoming swim season

  • A one-piece swim suit is mandatory

  • Goggles are highly recommended.  A few loaner pairs are available.

TEAM STRUCTURE

  • Our team has 3 positions for each individual event and relays for Varsity and the same for Junior Varsity swimmers.

  • Each swimmer may swim 2 events and 2 relays.

  • 9-18 Varsity swimmers create a solid varsity team. Then we fill our JV position.

    • Varsity is fluid and is recreated by time trials before each meet.

    • No one sits out of a meet unless they are restricted by grades, behaviors, or medical issues.

  • JV will swim the event first, followed by Varsity in the next heat.

  • JV and Varsity attend meets together and are separated only by heats.

  • Each event scores to the 5th place.

  • All swimmers will participate in the Bay Conference Relay and Bay Conference Sprints meets

  • The fastest nine swimmers (plus 2-3 alternates) will travel to our Sectional Meet

AUGUST 11 -14

Group A: 8:00 - 10:00

Group B: 10:30 - 12:30
