The #ShawanoProud Hawks had an incredible night at the Conference Swim Meet on Thursday! The team of eight swimmers put up some impressive times, earning 12 personal records and 9 podium appearances — plenty to celebrate! 🎉

🏅 Jai Bisterfeldt (Junior) – 3rd place in the 50 Free
🏅 Tela Hopfensperger (Senior) – 4th place in the 100 Free
🏅 The 400 Free Relay team — Tela Hopfensperger, Jai Bisterfeldt, Kenley Kelliher, and Molly Hanson — finished strong with a 3rd place win! 👏
Way to go, Hawks! Best of luck as you head to Sectionals in Ashwaubenon on Nov. 8th! ❤️

🍎🛒 Our 4K Hillcrest and LEADS friends had an egg-cellent adventure at Charlie’s County Market on Monday the 27th!
They got a special behind-the-scenes look at how a grocery store runs — from the bakery (those giant cookie ovens were a hit!) to the deli full of yummy fresh food. They watched how hamburger is ground and packaged, checked out where eggs and milk are stored, and even found the coolest spot in the store — the ice cream freezer! 🍦
A huge thank-you to the amazing team at Charlie’s for giving our young #ShawanoProud learners such a fun and fascinating experience! ❤️

🏡 LEADS first graders have been busy exploring what it means to be part of a community! Through their inquiry unit, they have been learning about the people who help make our community a safe, healthy, and happy place to live.
They were so lucky to welcome several amazing guest speakers who shared about their important roles:
👮♂️ A police officer who taught them about safety and helping others
📋 An auditor who taught them how to be "Accuracy Agents!"
💆♀️ A chiropractor who showed them how to keep their bodies strong and healthy
💉 A nurse practitioner who shared how she helps people feel better
📚 Our principal, who talked about leadership and what it means to take care of our school community
📚 And they even took a field trip to the Shawano library, where they learned how the library connects people through books, learning, and imagination!

Our 4K friends have been learning all about fire safety! They now know how to stop, drop, and roll if their clothes catch fire, and that it’s so important to have a plan—and remember, once they’re out, they stay out!
A huge thank you to the Shawano Fire Department for visiting our students, teaching them how to stay safe, and showing them all the awesome hoses, tools, and gear firefighters use every day. 👩🚒👨🚒

To put their skills into action, they compared regular and sugar-free gum, measuring mass, sharing data, and calculating averages. 📊
A great mix of math, science, and teamwork in action! 🙌

Over the summer, the SCMS middle school marching percussion instruments were taken in for a complete restoration, and last week, they made their return looking absolutely amazing! 🎶
A huge shoutout to Ms. Silk, our middle school band teacher, for leading the effort and an extra-special thank you to Aaron Wallrich, who dedicated several weeks. with the help of his family, to bringing these instruments back to life. 👏
❤️ The SCMS band can’t wait to show off these beautiful, restored instruments at the Homecoming Parade this fall and you won’t want to miss it!

On Saturday, our Girl’s Swim Team dove into their season at the Marinette Pentathlon, competing in five events, 50s of each stroke and a 100 Individual Medley. 🙌
